Writing From the Edge(s). Ukrainian Section

Virtual issue of the journal "Anthropology and Humanism", edited by Olena Sobolieva (University of Basel) and Julia Buyskykh (University College Cork)

A new special virtual issue of the journal Anthropology and Humanism, “Writing From the Edge(s). Ukrainian Section,” has recently been published. The issue was guest edited by Olena Sobolieva (Institute of Social Anthropology, University of Basel, and Centre for Applied Anthropology in Kyiv) and Julia Buyskykh (University College Cork and Centre for Applied Anthropology in Kyiv).

The contributions reflect on war, memories of twentieth-century catastrophes, loss, home, writing, archives, displacement, and the possibility of remaining human amid violence.

The special issue grew out of the project “Writing from the Edge(s): Writer. Editor. Reader,” supported by the Center for Governance and Culture in Europe at the University of St. Gallen, the GCE-HSG Black Sea Initiative, and the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
